Interpreting direction and targets based on Nifty Option Chain Data
The images below are from January 2022 monthly expiry data from Nifty Option Chain Data that was from 31-Dec-2021 to 27-Jan-2022. The images shown for the example are from 3-Jan-2022, 4-Jan-2022, 17-Jan-2022 and 18-Jan-2022.The images have been generated after data transformation of vanilla option chain data. At the high levels all these images might look similar but each of them is conveying different message in terms of direction and targets. The red line and blue line are crossing each other twice. The cross over on the left is the expected target in case of market falling down and cross over on the right is the expected target in case of market rising.
1. Bullish Scenario - If you notice the peak on 3-Jan-2022 is touching 17500 while on 4-Jan-2022 it touches 17700. This conveys markets are expected to rise. Bullish position can be created at CMP 17850.
2. Bearish Scenario - If you notice the peak on 17-Jan-2022 has touched 18300 and on 18-Jan-2022 it has touched 18100. This conveys markets are expected to fall. Any long position created needs to be closed at CMP 18100 and short position needs to be created at CMP 18100.
Nifty monthly expiry on 27-Jan-2022 happened at 17100.
